How to Lose Weight Taking Acai Supplements and Exercising
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009Acai berries are blueberry-shaped, dark purple berries found in certain palm trees in the Amazon. They are described as tasting like a mixture of red wine and chocolate and have been touted by health experts as a superfood because of their levels and combinations of good fats, antioxidants, amino acids, dietary fiber and more.
By taking acai berry supplements, you are assisting your body in becoming as efficient and well performing as possible. Insulin receptors will be in tip-top shape, which will lower in sugar cravings caused by insulin dips. Neurotransmitters will fire in better condition, keeping your mind sharp and emotions stable. Muscle development and performance is enhanced, increasing the amount of fat that will be burned in the body. Because you will be nutritionally balanced after integrating the berry into your daily diet, you will stay fuller longer and not suffer nutritional deficiencies that can lead to overeating and eventual weight gain.
While taking the supplement, be sure that you are eating a balanced diet. This includes at least two servings of calcium a day, a healthy amount of lean protein, at least five fruits and vegetables, healthy oils such as olive oil and at least six glasses of water a day. Limit or eliminate alcohol from your diet, and if you suffer from overeating, keep a food journal to raise awareness of what you’re putting into your body. Consume a daily multivitamin in addition to the acai berry supplements.
If you are not yet exercising, start by choosing a cardiovascular activity and doing it 20 minutes a day most days of the week. Each week, add on another five minutes. After a few weeks, slowly integrate a strength training plan, be it 3-pound hand weights or machines. Your exercise plan should be complimented by stretches to promote flexibility. In fact, one may pursue yoga or pilates to develop muscle and flexibility, and in some cases cardiovascular fitness.
