The Greatest Dieting Mistakes Ever – Don’t Fall For Them!

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Being obese in the past, I ended up making a lot of dieting mistakes on a daily basis. Some of the mistakes were real and profound, but few of them did have long lasting implications on my weight loss plans. Being human beings, we all should learn from our mistakes and avoid them in future to achieve weight loss.

Here are a few of dieting mistakes that I’ve made:

1) All or Nothing – This is the biggest mistake I’ve made while trying to achieve weight loss. I removed anything and everything from my pantry that I thought could give room to my temptations. Although this strict regime did work for a while, but eventually I realized that it was leading to unwanted anger and frustration as I was literally starving to death and pushing myself too much.

2) Wrong Diet Plan – I’ve tried and tested many diet plans and with my experience I can say that selecting a diet plan that involves eating the same food on a daily basis is walking on the path towards failure. As human beings, we need change in every area of our lives and it’s important that we have variety in our eating pattern and diet.

3) Depriving Yourself of Food – The trick to a successful diet is not to restrict yourself of all the food you enjoy. Have a diet that is rich in fruits vegetables and allows you to indulge yourself once in a while. However, when you indulge yourself, you need to remember that Moderation is the keyword. If you enjoy eating chocolates after meals – restrict them to once – twice a week.

4) Set Goals – Before beginning your path to weight loss, make sure to set goals. While setting goals it is important to remember to set goals that are achievable. Making your weight loss goals public isn’t a bad idea either – It adds good mental pressure to pursue your goals.

5) Don’t give up – Failures are common in every new venture in your life, and weight loss is no exception! The point is to not look at it as failure, but rather a temporary defeat, which gives you an opportunity to learn and get back on track. Try to learn from your mistakes, overcome them and move on fast! The faster you fail – The faster you will succeed! Just keep the Faith
