If you’re trying to lose weight and have failed in your weight loss goal, you’re probably asking yourself if “fad diets are for me?” You need to remember that these diets CLAIM to give you instant results, and the more you repent not losing weight quickly, you tend to slip into these diets.

These kinds of fad diets are temporary and they end up causing severe health complications. Most of the these diets are over hyped and make outrageous claims.

1. Not balanced – Fad diets ask you to consume certain kinds of food and none of the others. In this way, you are deprived of the benefits of a healthy balanced diet.

2. Focus on Water Removal – It’s proven that most of our body is made up of water. These diets focus on removing the water from your body on a temporary basis to show you “results”. When the water returns in your body – It can cause severe health complications.

3. No Exercise – Fad diets that are void of exercises are basically pointless and useless.

4. Recommend Supplements – You are sometimes recommended to take supplements. These supplements when taken do not go well with the body, unless they are consumed along with the food that your fad diet has removed.

No matter what you hear or read, fad diets will not help you lose weight on a long term basis.

The ideal way to weight loss should be achieved by a diet that is safe & effective. A good diet plan is one that that incorporates factors like age, weight, eating habits and lifestyle. It should also help keep you motivated by offering you the occasional “treats” in your diet. You should remember that a balanced diet plan will consist of foods from all varieties of groups which consist of carbohydrates and proteins. Also, a good exercise plan which consists of a combination of cardiovascular training and weight training will generally be included.
