The Absolute Best Way to Lose Belly Fat

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

That belly fat! Every year you feel like you’re adding to your waistline and you tell yourself that it’s part of life and you’re just getting older. Well, think again! If you’re trying to find the best way to lose belly fat then there’s no magic pill that you can buy in the store that can burn stomach fat.

If you are trying to get rid of stomach fat first I want you to stop and think about what lifestyle do you have?

  • What does your diet consist of?
  • What do you eat everyday regularly?
  • Are you active?
  • How you do feel?
  • Are you feeling lazy or not content with your life?

Don’t start thinking “What do my inner thoughts have to do with reducing body fat!” but the truth is people who feel down tend to eat more unhealthy foods and be less active. So it must start from within yourself.

But I’m here to tell you how to lose body fat and give you some info on helping you in burning belly fat for good.

The absolute BEST WAY to lose BELLY FAT is to find good habits (in exercise or how you eat) you can do LONG TERM.

Know all those diets that tell you how to loose belly fat in 2 weeks? 1 month? NO!

No diets! Just changes in how you eat! Diets are SHORT TERM. Lifestyle / small changes in how you eat are doable and LONG TERM.

Find an activity / exercise / sport that you can enjoy and have fun LONG TERM. Did you say FUN? Yes, I said FUN! If you’re having FUN you can do that forever.

Although this may not pertain to you this is an example of how I stay active and combine that with fun at the same time. Now we all have to work but after work on Tuesdays and Thursdays I get together with friend(s) and play tennis after 6pm. I’ll have a light sandwich or fruit before and hydrate myself before play and during play. It’s enjoyable and I have a great time chatting with my friends.

I know other people that get together and go to the local school track to take walks or light jogs on the track. There are several high schools that open their track field to the community for people to come in and walk in a well lit, safe environment. They can do that after dinner to relax, stay active and socialize at the same time instead of just sitting down and turning on the television.

The fact is that you have to get out and do something. Do something light to start off and get creative. You don’t have to go to the school track field. You can walk around your neighborhood and choose a different path each time. Going to the golf range? Go swimming at the high school (open swim)/community pool? Find out what other friends are doing and join them. Just try it. If you like it you’ll keep doing it and you won’t even think about the fitness aspect of it at all cause you’re having fun at the same time.

Make a few healthy changes in your diet (by diet I mean how you eat) that you CAN DO LONG TERM. LONG TERM. I mean something that doesn’t burn you out. Do it every now and then and make it a part of your life. Before you know it you will be burning belly fat unconsciously.

To recap:

Best way to lose belly fat: Find an Activity / Exercise you can HAVE and do it LONG TERM (with friends if possible)

Best way to lose belly fat: Make some healthy changes in your diet to eat better.

Small changes like have a meal with a salad or fruit. Cutting down on soda and drinking water. Etc., etc.

ONLY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU CAN HANDLE.

For me I ALWAYS try to have fruit after a meal as my dessert. It’s healthy, has fiber, vitamins & minerals, takes care of my sweet tooth and I enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong. I love having other desserts but I have those in moderation. Once in a while and not too often. So what fruits do I have? It depends on the season but as an example: Fuji apples, Texas oranges, honey tangerines, watermelon, blueberries, raspberries, Bartlett pears, bananas, red delicious apples, white peaches, mangoes and so much more. Whatever is in season. Spend time at your local grocery store and check the flyers for the weekly deals.

Remember that fruit sugar (fructose) acts differently on the body than processed sugar (sucrose from candy, ice cream, pies, cakes, cookies, soda pop) does. Sucrose, when it enters the bloodstream causes your body to store calories immediately or be in that storage state. What do you store those calories into? Fat of course. Fruit sugar takes a little longer to break down plus fruit is low calorie, has fiber which slows down the digestion process and mostly water as well.

Take these tips to heart. They will improve your life for the better. Start small and adjust upward!

7 Tips to Burn Body Fat – How to Lose Weight Quickly

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

There are many ways to burn stubborn body fat. Here are 7 tips to follow in your quest to lose weight.

1) Don’t be too extreme in reducing calories.

Cutting calories by just 15-20% daily is the most effective way to burn body fat while bigger reductions in calories will cause you to lose a bigger proportion of muscle as opposed to losing body fat. Muscle tissue is a calorie burner and you don´t want to lose any. If you’re currently eating 2,500 calories a day, reduce to 2,000 to 2,200 for best results.

2) Eat smaller amounts of food but more frequently.

This effective way of eating, 5 to 6 times a day, boosts your metabolism and your body utilizes calories more efficiently.

3) Eat More Protein.

Carbohydrates, protein and fat – are all capable in being stored as body fat, but of the 3, protein causes the biggest metabolism raising effect compared to eating carbs or fat. Try to eat 1 to 1.5 grams of

protein per each pound of your bodyweight every day to preserve your muscles.

4) Eat most of your carbs early in the day.

Carbs are used by your body to produce energy. Most people don´t need to produce lots of energy after 6 p.m. So logic will tell you not to eat a lot of carbs in the evening. Try to eat most of your carb calories at breakfast and lunch. The evening meal should consist mostly of lean protein and low starch vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, green beans or asparagus.

5) Eat more seafood.

Many research studies have shown that people who ate fish and other types of seafood on a daily basis were able to burn body fat than at a faster rate than dieters who ate fish just once a week.

6) Drink Green Tea.

Green tea contains caffeine (but less than coffee) and antioxidants as well as polyphenols called epilgallocatechin gallate that have been proven effective in raising the amount of calories burned.

7) Keep a calorie journal.

This simple but effective technique will really help you in your quest to burn stubborn body fat. It is not something done by the majority of people trying to lose weight.

Maybe that is the reason so many people fail to get the results they want? By keeping track on what you eat each day and how many calories you consumed you will begin to be more aware of your bad eating habits and then make better food choices. This technique forces you to be honest with yourself and makes you realize that burning body fat and losing weight is all about the choices you make each and every day.

You don’t have to starve yourself in trying to lose weight.

It’s obvious you are on the big side but you can still shed some weight with peace of mind. Determine how much weight you want to lose. You can also set targets for yourself by checking your weight daily if you are doing a seven 7 day weight loss program.

This works well as you know how you are doing. One of the best natural and easiest things to do is to reduce your fat intake. Eat less of fatty foods and watch your diet. No matter what program you are on, take lots of water regularly as this allows for free flow of liquids in your body system. The truth is water helps more than the usual juices we all take and soft drinks. You can also do regular and daily exercises; this helps you to burn unnecessary fat in your body. You can also indulge in some high intensity interval training which will stimulate and double your body mechanism.

Split your food intake between carbohydrate and proteins. If you are doing all these and still you are still on the large side, then it means either you are doing the wrong program or you are still eating your fatty based foods. You can also reduce your weight by taking foods that have less sugar in them. Major problem with overweight people is the problem of diabetes and high blood pressure. So help your self by taking the best and right program.

How to Lose Weight Without Losing Your Soul

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

The biggest problem people are facing today, is losing weight. The average child is three times as big as the average child was twenty years ago. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed now! There are so many weight loss programs that claim to have the secrets behind this serious problem. The truth of the matter is that only a few techniques work for the majority of people. You must use these techniques often if you want to see results.

It is so amazing to me that people forget the reason for weight gain. The truth about losing weight is not that much of a secret. It is all about calorie intake and the type of carbohydrates you consume on a regular basis. You cannot gain weight if you burn more calories than you consume. The same rule applies for weight loss. It really is as simple as watching what you eat. I think it is so funny that the so called experts tell you losing fat is a secret. The real secret is that the experts are not experts.

So now you are probably wondering how to lose weight the correct way. Here is what I do: Start with consuming some healthy carbohydrates like eggs or oatmeal. Then do some short and simple stretching to warm up your body. Make sure you do not over stretch before you work out. This will actually harm your muscles.

Start with simple exercises that you can preform easily. I like to do push-ups and squats. They work your abs and gluts. They also build a strong core which will help your back greatly. Do these work outs for as long as you can comfortably. Then increase your exercise time. You do not need to work out every day. This will actually be a waste of time in the beginning. Just pick three days that work for you and be consistent with your workouts. Your workouts will get better in time and you will have more motivation. It really is this simple. Just do not ever give up.
